Felino A. Soriano, American Poet

Felino A. Soriano (b. 1974) is a case manager and advocate for adults with developmental and physical disabilities. In 2010, he was chosen for the Gertrude Stein “rose” prize for creativity in poetry from Wilderness House Literary Review. Philosophical studies collocated with his connection to various idioms of jazz explains motivation for poetic occurrences.                   wanders upon extracting excavated incidents:

guardian promotes

an—after jazz dialogical

                                                                                        occurrence

shaped by hands whose wanting formulation
fashions from
                                              outcast threads
day of concise

elemental desire.

Echo

pluralized
                                             stuttered fullness of articulation,

faded. As
moments discard their momentary skin
light relives through exhaled silence
                                                                                   gift of
promised
movement
                                          the required vitality of age and voice
awaiting parallelism’s gild of remarkable

elucidation.

Forest

Death, alive
forming                                            aggregated foundational species
                                            trampled
                 by the walking
absence of
                                                              man’s acclimated
dominance. Irony
                                unravels her
locked emotional

permission
                                                           collaborating
mood and noon’s electric visual articulation, hoping
as in angled rain’s deliberate behavior
                                                                                                to
revive this absence with
intromitting bodies unharmed, ameliorated.

Then, Just

Because light
t i p t o e s
                                a silent vernacular of unimposing
attributes
                                                dusk exhibits aerial renditions
catapulting thrust and harmony of time

attempting capture and arresting articulations
approaching dynamic and delimitated                   grace
lit by the bodies illuminating evening.
